THE WORLD'S FIRST CROSS-CONTINENT AR TOUR

Disney's The Wonder of Friendship is a traveling exhibition across 4 countries. We brought the exhibit to new heights with AR.

BACKGROUND

To celebrate 100 years of dynamic duos and inseparable friends, Disney wanted to help the next generation strengthen their own friendships. So, Disney challenged us to turn their upcoming exhibit into an experience that was more magical, more shareable and put friendship center stage. 

IDEA

Introducing: The Wonder of Friendship Experience. An immersive and interactive touring exhibit that merged the physical world with the digital, by integrating Snap's AR technology in a way that's never been done before. 

To make the experience truly magical,  we created nine unique lenses for five magical AR experiences that each paid homage to iconic Disney stories of friendship. We transformed each exhibit into an immersive AR room, with first-of-its-kind Custom Location Mesh and Ray Tracing technology. 

We put the wonder back into friendship and drove conversations across four cultural epicenters of Europe. This set a new standard in immersive storytelling,  changing the way we experience Disney stories forever.

DESIGN DEVELOPMENT

Glowing neon lights were the main source of inspiration when developing the look and feel of the AR experience. We wanted to bring the intense colors and illumination that comes from these lights into our branding, UI, and AR experience. 

OUTPUT

The overall design and art direction were implemented into marketing materials, UI design, and the augmented reality experience.
